Butterfly in the Storm

Butterfly in the Storm

Sometimes the rain burns and you drown in the sun,
Some days are so grey that you blank out everyone,
It’s hard to breathe when you feel nothing at all.
The Butterfly in the Storm.

Sorrow sits in the corner of some eyes,
a thin and false stretch gets added to those smiles,
Water the seed of strength inside.
The Butterfly in the Storm.

In the darkest moments of your life,
In the lowest of the lows, the struggles and the strife,
Look down at your feet, you are not alone,
Those are our footsteps beside you, your friends, your Bros.
You know we look up to you, and your crazy mad world,
But that’s' part of the charm, how legend status is earned. You are stronger than you think, you have overcome before, I’ve seen you move mountains, it’s time to restore...

I’ll fight for you, will you fight with me?
Climb up off the floor, get up off your knees,
Don’t give up, don’t give in, show the fight in the dog...  Butterflies can weather the storm...

Author's Note
My mates marriage broke down. It broke him completely. It pushed him to the brink. I felt pretty helpless. I wrote this song for him.
