Notable Sky 2#
The wind roared through leafless trees
Like winter waves on shingle shores
Ash grey clouds bled across weakened blue.
Parliments rode the wind.
The black dog ran across sodden fields.
The sun failed.
Rain.

Re. Notable Sky 2#
As a former pet sitter, who operated my own dog walking/pet sitting company for almost 7 years until covid completely decimated the business, (where even my long-time, diehard clients were crying about no longer needing me since they were working from home and sadly not taking vacations at that time and of course for awhile thereafter) I
Let's just say I absolutely love, love love me some furry kiddos. (I mean love!) There really isn't anything better than your pet baby greeting you with all those excited love and kisses... Whether you're a dog or cat person, it makes no difference to me, I love them all. Honestly I do think that I actually like dogs better than most people!!... So this artwork absolutely affects me so so deeply; and when accompanied by your almost forlorn or a bit gothic-esque imagery that's kinda tempered with the pressence of your pup, well, it definitely makes for a truly wonderful and poignantly felt experience/form of expression.
Bravo, James.... You're an artist through and through. The best I've seen on DUP in awhile! Absolutely breathtaking, imo.
Phenomenal work.

Thank you for your warm words.
It's my little brindle bulldog running across the field. He is amazing, he is happy just running and chewing sticks. I wish I could get some of that myself. I see the leafless trees and political corruption, while my little dog just runs with joy.
I love this Bukowski quote:
"Dogs and angels are not very far apart."
That is real shit to hear about your business, covid has wreaked so many peoples lives, including mine. But we all carry on.
I am really glad you like the poem. I recommend people look at the sky make a sketch/painting and write a poem. It just writes itself.
Regards
James

Thank you,

Hi James I felt like your writing here was proportional in its succinct imagery, had depth and gravitas. I love writing where the milieu is imbued with emotion.

Hi,
Thank you for your kind words. I switched off in order to switch on. I just stared at the scene and wrote. without trying. The difference is have have been trying to describe the sky for seven years over and over.
I would advise anyone to paint or draw a scene then write it out.
Regards
