Labyrinth of Dreams...
I am again wandering in the Labyrinth of Dreams,
Those dreams that remained after you,
I am quietly dying in this oubliette,
Those plans that I built have failed!
You are my Stalker of these claustrophobic corridors,
nostril ringed manacle gleaming gold cast from flames
Keeping me bound in this collar and fetters, choking me
And your eyes and the cold of the walls are catching fear,
I overtake the night, I step into infinity,
Trying not to notice my knees scraped into blood!
You stretch out your hand to me, lead me free,
From these dim and shabby ruins,
I will share my bad fate with stones,
And maybe my presence will turn out to be forever!
It 's your fault that I got so lost,
that to this day I have not found a way out,
That I got stuck in you and disappeared without a trace,
That between your palms turned into ashes ...
Dispel me in this stray trap,
If you are the owner of it, I want to stay in you,
I will melt in your memory as a puppet and a doll,
And the one who until the end couldn't reach...

Thanks, I am really glad you like it. I think most of us have dealt with Monsters in love. Sometimes in a more unusual sense as well. There is definitely introspection and we need to learn from our experiences in order to not repeat them. History always wants to repeat itself it seems. You know I love the BIG LIKE and especially the DO MORE. :) And RL AWARD... Thank you so much PS! Been kind of a rough time again lately.

Well hey NG, it's good to see you. I am glad you could see the striking duality. That is definitely something I was trying to portray so I love that you could see it and found it gripping. Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts.

Terrific work Kristina, your alacrity with a sensual idiom comes across in a smoky noir vibe. Suggestions I have would be to avoid repeats close together unless it's for intentional effect, like I might say oubliette instead of labyrinth the second time, it expands the construct as well. I might omit minotaur entirely to not be too on the nose and instead describe the creature so it comes to life before the mind's eye, You are my stalker of these claustrophobic corridors, nostril ringed manacle gleaming gold in the crypt light, etc.

Hey Daniel, I hope you are doing good and having great holidays. It's good to see you. I am so happy you thought it was terrific work. I do love a sensual smoky noir vibe. Oooo oubliette is perfect actually. I love that. I can see what you mean about Minotaur. What you wrote is amazing and really does make it come to life in a more vivid way that the mind can more completely visualize. Thank you so much for the wonderful suggestions and giving me something else to think about. I look at making some changes soon.

Dark love can be beautiful too. ;) But there is often so much darkness in love but light too. Always pulling you into the shadows Francisco, and then lighting a match. You know I like catching things on fire. :p Thanks for getting lost in my maze.

Dear K,
Yes, dark, smoky, sensual, with a mix of lust, need, passion…for me, I don’t equate werewolves and vampires in this. It’s more my lack of self approval and total neediness that find will find me in a labyrinthine cock up! I really enjoyed the storyline of the write and the twists and thoughts throughout of our dear heroine. She’s vulnerable but is aware of an inner strength. Chick power!

No vampires or werewolves in this one, but I think it is about time I need to post one with vampires. ;) In fact, I have something in mind on that. I think you captured it perfectly in regards to the elements you see. Lots of lust, need, and passion mixed with the sensual smoky darkness roaming the maze of love. Neediness and lack of self approval will definitely have you wandering around trying to find your way. I love that you liked the story, twists and thoughts. That you could get lost in the maze with me for a moment and although vulnerable share some inner strength. Sometimes we don't realize just how strong we are until we are really tested in the hardest possible ways.

I don't see any evidence that your followers know anything about the Greek myths. That's too bad. They'd get so much more from your piece, if they did.

Hey Bonnie. I love Greek mythology. There are so many lessons about love and life throughout; so much to learn from the past. And the God's were a rowdy bunch weren't they... So many interesting representations of things like the Minotaur, Medusa, Typhon, the Harpies, etc. etc. Sometimes love can serve as a prison like the labyrinth built by Daedalus to contain the monster. Yet, we always want to be lost in the maze of love, never finding your way out. :) No doubt more Greek Gods and Monsters to come.

Yes, there are invaluable lessons taught by Greek and Roman mythology; later appearing (thinly disguised) in some parables. On DUP, the favored God might well be Hermes, a thief and philanderer (who likely would have evolved into a modern day plagiarist, deceiver and comment gusher).

Absolutely, always a deep longing and sometimes that can be overwhelming to you and to others. ;) So you need to escape at times, but the escape really is deeper longing. Ah we never can find our way out of the maze of love and yet we never want to. Regardless of all the difficulties. I think you definitely understood what I was going for here and I am honored by your lovely compliment. Thank you so much DC!

Oh boy, so true... I was looking through songs, so many - damn! I know what I will be listening to. I saw one called Scary Monsters, perhaps you had that one in mind. But I will definitely be listening for all the connections now too. David Bowie has so many incredible songs about the trials of love. I love your extensive knowledge of songs and music Jazz... You always know the perfect accompaniments.

Not sure if they go with your write but two of my favorites are "Criminal World" featuring Stevie Ray Vaughan on guitar. (a not to cool story about their relationship), and "Ashes To Ashes".

It's easy to lose ourselves in that longing and pursuit of passion. And then what? We're not even the same one who started the journey and we're adrift, wandering...
I see both bravery and surrender in this write.
Hope you're doing ok.

Oh yes! longing and passion are a lifelong pursuit and it's easy to lose ourselves in it. It can be the most incredible journey but also the most painful to. Love can be very complicated and it always changes you, and there is always a destination even if we may never reach it. Always wandering around trying. :p Ah yes, definitely bravery and surrender. Thank you for the concern k. I am okay. ❤️ X

A metaphorical head-spin, which left me dizzy. Dizzy is good. You submit a lot of yourself into your words and forming a very impressive portfolio in the process. Greece is such an enchanting land and to be transported to her mythical shores whilst the winter rages, curls my hand to ancient pages. Creadur hardd.

In that case I love making you dizzy. I do write from the heart and soul putting a lot of myself into my writing. I am so happy you feel like it's an impressive portfolio. You are such an awesome writer so that makes me feel really good. Greece is definitely enchanting. I got the opportunity to visit while living in the UK. I want to visit the islands at some point. But Athens and the north were awesome and so much history. It's just incredible to think about people living there 1000s of years ago. Mythical shores indeed. oooo Creadur hardd. I like that.... it sounds so dirty but translates into something else. ;) I like it a lot.

Oooooo I love that you felt it was good enough for a second read Mary. Sometimes that's how love goes, you get totally lost in someone for better or worse. Or I suppose for better and worse. Sometimes we do disappear without a trace. I love rendering you speechless. I feel like that's a great accomplishment. ;)

This one is a masterpiece. I'm not sure I could single out one line to mention but "And the one who until the end couldn't reach", that last line was a kill shot I mean you got yourself another award winner with this one , each word and each line was purposefully and perfectly put with a flow that was absolutely elegant.

A masterpiece, wow! you are too kind. I truly adore your thoughts and that each line spoke to you. We are always searching, making our way through that maze of love. Trying to reach that other person that we need so much. Sometimes that search seems endless and sometimes it's so full of pain. I love that you felt the last line really tied it all together as well. Each line was from the heart and soul... Thank you so much for the absolutely wonderful comment zinn. I really do love it.

You really hook the reader from that opening stanza, with a spellbinding command of words and enticing curiosity, we're witness to a pain amidst the dungeons, and yet I found it beautiful.
Incredible work.

I adore spellbinding command of words and enticing curiosity. :) After all I do love casting spells, like any young witch should. lol There is pain, but there is beauty to be found in pain and suffering too. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts with me Wally, I love that you liked it.

Ah yes! so much exploration, lost in this labyrinth tryin to find the way out. Perhaps the muse lost in this underground maze of creative inspiration. The earth can indeed be an oubliette, but some dungeons and torture feel oh so good too. Perhaps that can be heaven, at least in the moment. Thank you so much for stopping in to get lost with me for a moment and share your thoughts. I love that!

Well I like fucking fuck... and sin-ism too. Oubliette is a great word isn't it? I like strange and obscure words so perhaps I am a logophile as well. ;) I never dismiss the power of words. Oh yes! to the foundation and below into the dungeon. To forget as you try to find your way through the labyrinth of tunnels enduring the many tortures. Ah, I do have more to post in this series but you may like the previous one. It has a pulse and lycanthropy is infectious. ;) Really glad you found my pulse and can feel the passion contained within it Sinister...

I just go with what comes to mind. But I like channeling some of the more cryptic and older words that were left by the wayside. I find them beautiful and meaningful. And I love a plethora to choose from in my mind. I have picked up a lot from reading. Perhaps I will have a peruse of that site though to learn some more.
