Check Out
pointing him to the stars
holding his hands
and pulling him into tomorrow
running through dandelions field
getting wet on morning dew
all good for once
until the dance
starts again
he checks out
wanders in the grey
of a tunnel
that leads to nowhere
he sees vague shapes
of friends long gone
yet they are always
taunting him for being alive
he wakes up to her
and almost hated her sunny smile
she hugs him
singing in her low voice
swinging up her spirit
until she can show him
the stars of happy
twinkling lights shining through
her hopes
she stays for him
believing in her love
and he clings to her
clutching on straws
for his sanity
holding his hands
and pulling him into tomorrow
running through dandelions field
getting wet on morning dew
all good for once
until the dance
starts again
he checks out
wanders in the grey
of a tunnel
that leads to nowhere
he sees vague shapes
of friends long gone
yet they are always
taunting him for being alive
he wakes up to her
and almost hated her sunny smile
she hugs him
singing in her low voice
swinging up her spirit
until she can show him
the stars of happy
twinkling lights shining through
her hopes
she stays for him
believing in her love
and he clings to her
clutching on straws
for his sanity
