200 Miles to your Loving Arms
Coming down the home stretch
2 weeks on the road
Makes the strongest man
Bend at the knees a bit
200 miles to your loving arms
Black coffee, petal to the metal
Till I round the corner
Into your smile I call home
2 weeks on the road
Makes the strongest man
Bend at the knees a bit
200 miles to your loving arms
Black coffee, petal to the metal
Till I round the corner
Into your smile I call home

Dear PS,
I can hear this as a country tune. The lyrics are genuinely touching. I do so enjoy your romantic side.
The painting is also lovely. The black stripe on the bottom reminds me of the outside of a grand piano. I love the brightness of the green against the mauve and grey colors. Huge Dig! H🌷

Definite country twang to this one! The art makes me think of wide open road and trees, and day and night and sun and cloud all mixed up... perfect trucker vibe.
And of course, the romance is irresistible as always.

The closing gave me a sigh:)
Pedal to the medal buddy!!!
The art is wonderful.
Love all of that emerald green. So
vibrant against all of the other colors.

Yeah Adel,
Trying the romantic writes again.
This an older poem I reworked a bit.
I'm a cowboy after all in a big city.
But I'm still holding doors and saying
Yes Ma'am a lot
Thx on the art. I looked for a good trucker pic but couldn't find what I wanted so just went abstract with my own.
Do it yourself action....
Thx so much A

I got a black fedora that could almost pass for a cowboy hat ...

I found myself thinking of music but not the country genre, but then one came to me, “Wichita Lineman”.
The fondness for that partner’s presence is well described.

Yes, agree on Witchita Lineman
I really like Glen Campbell
That was him, eight ?
Or was it Kris Krisstoffson
Same genre
Same sentiment
Appreciate your comment Jazz
Thx

yes and some don't realize how versatile his guitar work was. Played sessions with the Beach Boys and could play the bagpipes.

Saw a documentary about him a few years ago.
Just seemed like a loving guy with a good family.
A sweet voice that will be remembered forever...
Thanks for your comments J

Lovely... Simply lovely... The poem is beautiful in its entirety but i Love the last two lines "Till I round the corner
Into your smile I call home"
And the art work is amazing as usual, dear poet. I'm enchanted 😍
Btw, I love country music 😊
