Run, Into the Morning Light
Run all day
Run all night
Run until you’re out of sight
Death is trying to catch you
So run until the break of dawn
And into the morning light
Enemy ahead
Enemy behind
Surrounded by their wrath
Though their bombs have fallen
If you want to break away
Be astute and find the right path
Amidst the rubble
Amidst the ruins
You’ll find a way to be free
The road will be so rough
But don’t ever lose faith
And you’ll fulfill your destiny
Search high
Search low
Give everything you have to give
You’ll find your shelter
And that special haven
But don’t lose your will to live
Run all day
Run all night
Run until you’re out of sight
And death will not catch you
Because when dawn breaks
Hope will rise with the morning light

The previous three poems (a short story), told the narrative but I felt like I had to close it differently with a fourth piece.
In situations like these were survival is of the utmost importance, finding the quickest way out requires instinct. Glad you liked it.
