Run Out of Sight

…As I entered the abandoned asylum
A couple of their dogs sniffed me out
I was captured this time by an enemy
Who would surely end my life without a doubt

But they brought me back to the same room
It was full of men in body armor and high tech gear
They spoke a language I didn’t know or understand
Until I heard someone clearly say “he’s here”

The lifeless body I had seen came back to life
The bloodied man was awake, but he didn’t move
While on the floor he gave order to his officers
Laying still under a blanket no one would remove

“You did this” he said with his cheek still on the floor
They brought me closer so that we could engage
The men surrounding him made me kneel by his body
“You did this to me” he yelled with anger and rage

I recognized his face, the one from the briefing
I, a spy had kidnapped him and brought him there
The Premier had been captured by an amnesiac
As he laid over explosives he was in terrible despair

Earlier he had been sedated so that he wouldn’t move
Or else the bombs would be triggered by any motion
And yet I couldn’t remember how I had rigged them
I had killed him and that had been all the commotion

I was asked several times about how to disarm the bombs
They just didn’t believe me when I said I couldn’t remember
And yet to a certain degree I knew I would be tortured
But the instruments on the table spelled out dismember

Suddenly three of their guards attacked their own
The shooting caused a chaos all over the place
One of them helped me escape out a back way
Then he said “Remove the trigger, it’s still in your face”

A tiny device had been lodged in my eye socket
As I bled out I couldn’t believe what I was feeling
“Run”, the other agent, a secret spy cried out loud
With one hand on my eye bleeding I began fleeing

I ran under the cover of night amidst of a firefight
Hiding between wrecked buildings, rubble and rocks
Then in distance I felt the heat of the explosion
We had rigged the asylum and several city blocks

But the rest of the military patrol started to converge
And I, with one eye could defend myself or fight
I was in the middle of a war zone, and I had to get out
Still not knowing who I was I had to run out of sight…
