Tangential travels; love's desolation

A tale for the ages. What if…
I so enjoyed this ride of wonder. Your penchant for creating a scene amidst an amazing backdrop of energy and imagination didn’t disappoint. Simply put, this is another example of your resplendent talent. Love the the pic. Truly lends itself to the speeding idea of how quickly life can take you in any direction when fate, circumstances or luck allows. I know I’ve been in many of these trains. Always hoping for something other than where I got off as my destination. Alas…🫤however, this poetic  ride was definitely Fantastic! H🌷

That 'what if' .... absolutely looms heavy, indeed!  

I'm so happy you enjoyed traveling along... I was out of the blue messaged by Opentotheskies with a lovely poem he told me he was gifting me. Then he offered me the opportunity to take it and refine it...and this is the result. I hope it's something that really combines both of our styles well. I think it's hard to figure out who's who, which I totally adore.  

Your instincts of love, life and how easily it can be to go into the wrong direction or even being successful by going in the right one, is definitely some of what I was tapping into when writing. The potential for regret or missed opportunities, makes that stark landscape really ache well, I think.

It's a bit of bleakness with an underlying sense of buried hope, and restored faith .... I like to think, anyway.  

Your kind words leave me renewed and always immensely grateful.

curling apricot twirls - This piece is a visual journey. I left the room and stared at the world you and your co-writer Opentotheskies have created. The scifi landscapes were really beautiful. And the romance evoked is as vivid as the landscape.

The emotional vistas you two created are Tibetan in their vastness and desolate as Patagonia by train. There was so much metaphorical magic here of the journey painted in a physical sense but more so in intimacy. I love the way you two made the distance into a feeling palpable sensation of time and space. The depth of passion and sorrow here made the tracks into an adventure of love and loss. The Himalayan desolation brought home the feeling of a romance whose petals fell before full blossom. The ending is a tremendous catharsis. This is real poetry that sings a lonely but beautiful song into my heart.

Dearest John,
That vast desolate feeling and imagery was purposeful because that's how it came to me as a gift. I refined and added what I hoped was a more narrowed in on feeling that already existed... I'm sincerely pleased you felt that sense of it. That adventure that takes you to emotional places you'd never be able to imagined; only experience can fully convey...

My heart sings a song only a few are privy to.... and dammit, how fortunate am I, that yours is one of them!

Reading this, (and its damn good!), and having read much of your stuff, I had a huge sense of it being different than your norm.  (Like I said before, when we write, we leave fingerprints).
It isn't better or worse, it's simply crafted different.  It is very good nonetheless.

Then I saw your author's note.  Bingo.  You had added motivation.  And it paid off immensely.  It drew out of you "more".  So kudos to the inspiration. And bravo to your outstanding result.  

It's not really my poem.... the bones are someone else's, I only tweaked it and added or subtracted what I felt it needed or didn't need...

So, you're right... it's much different than my own but I think it's such a cool mixture of the two of us. I hadn't been afforded that type of opportunity before and I'm ecstatic I was. I just loved it and Os was totally stoked at the outcome, too.

Omg... what fun. You should try it out! It took a few tries but I love how this piece turned out, too. Although there were a few trial pieces that I sort of liked the look of, as well...I can always switch them out, if I want....lol..  

That site is addictive, especially if you can't really paint or draw yourself; you're just putting in descriptions, very detailed ones and letting the AI do it's magic. I just marvel at it's coolness.

Okay, I understand better today!   I was wore out last night too. All the prep, all the worry mostly about friends' areas, all my adrenaline crashing around 4 a.m.

Nope, no power ... 24 hours in, now.

I found one gas station open and bought a ton of ice, so we'll see how long it holds. Luckily it's overcast and there's a bit of a breeze so I opened my windows and it's doable... for now. Send me some good luck from the teco gods!! 👍🏻 ⚡

They're still in the process of forming out in the Tropics but you never know.... we are prone to repeats... unfortunately...

     Tangential travels; love' desolation.....this was one refreshing abreathless read. The words of u too would encircle my ah heart threw my eyes and ears, as, I would continue to ah read line for line stanza for stanza. Blue this piece is so ah refreshingly ah heart touching to me. The conversation within this ah penned to me ah famed ah treasure y'all both ah shared was just the magnificent of eye to eye ah deep in ah touch ah conversation with the two speakers the poem ah presented. There always seems to be that question in life that lingers, what would have occurred if I had taken the other “track”? In addition, the unpredictability of human nature, the outcome unknown until it is lived.

One can ponder – would being together make life better, or would I have made their life worse. The different scenarios can keep one up at night.

The lines referring to jackals and vultures; those wanting only your carnal flesh, dismissing your soul and mind as irrelevant. Getting through the badlands unscathed…!

This is an excellent poem combining “two ships passing in the night” and “would have, could have, should have”!  Quite amazing gift you have with words and use of expressive terms such as sanguine.
