It was a work conference call, so there wasn't much else to do but grin and bear it (or pretend to while you're secretly writing a senryú!) .... otherwise, I'd definitely be right there with you, Robert!  You know it!! 💯

Well, honestly the only thing I have really learned is that I don't really know much of anything with certainty, especially when it comes to DUP, so I was only erring on the side of caution and politeness. I obviously mean no offense and I'm sincerely sorry that I made you feel terrible. That's the polar opposite of what I hoped to elicit and a very unfortunate and sad takeaway. I was truly coming from a good place and thought I was matching your own replies in tone.

would doodle live when conferences were face to face. I'd always peek over

Yep, you're exactly right... poetry to the rescue, indeed!!... Whew!!

It's almost too easy to look busy or engaged via a conference call, when you work from home. I think that's also why my patience for 'Karen' was almost at a boiling point, too.... hahaha... I am so used to being a lone wolf (yes, I said it!) doing so much on my own and not having to really answer minute by minute to anyone, much less being almost held captive because someone loves the sound of their own voice without end ......sheesh 🙄

Glad you got a giggle and could relate to my frustrations; that's always a soul soother, to reaffirm that we all have these pressure points that can get triggered!

hello beautiful Blue I understand but I never feel this really
I always think I'm stuck with someone for a purpose
perhaps they are reflecting something meaningful
I don't maybe it's just crap...,my life has led me to some
tough characters and some people who just got lucky
they all have a point... Carly would be proud 💕

You're a lovely, accepting soul, dear Bren.... so I can see how you might not be familiar, which says so much about your good heart.  

Unlike you, I have the misfortune to be keenly aware of the immensely self centered narcissisim that kept yammering on and on today via a SHARED call with over 20 people; which extended my already long work day much longer than my (at that point) precarious temperament could handle. So this senryú was the result of getting rid of some of that deep frustration and annoyance.

Glad you think Carly would approve, that made me smile.... I think she just might have loved it, too!! ;p

I like that about you, too; you're driving desires and the rampant erotic thoughts that swirl and infiltrate. How you have a reverence and wonderful passionate appreciation for goddesses of all different kinds and various types. I often get disheartened here on DUP because I'm too old and seemingly 'aging out', so to speak. An old crone, like myself has zero allure writing erotica. It's almost as sad as a 70 year old man finding and fulfilling sexual gratification with someone in their 20's. (cringe) It's not just a number, either. People say that to excuse away the inordinate amount of old men that are attracted to and end up with young girls. If the situation were reversed, there would be outrage in the streets that all these old(er) women were hooking up with guys in their 20's. It would never stand and the poor older women would be seen and treated as veritable heretics; which just reeks of unfairness. It's not like that's even at all what I want, it's not; I'm just making a point. Aging is not for the weak willed or faint of heart. And aging as a a single woman-even more so. But I digress....

I always love the co-workers that have to talk about how much work they did and how they are so great, because it's those ones that seem the laziest. There is this one person I work with that walks so slow, comes in late, goes home early, then at the end of the day goes up to the bosses bragging about how they worked so hard.

Yeah, you've described another version of work colleague... I get that dude, completely! I have one of those too I call him the skulker, because he tries to hide from any hard work or attempts to pawn it off on somebody else.... sheesh!!... Yet more reasons why I like dogs better than most people!! haha. Plus, being so vain when someone gives you an inch you constantly take a mile—every. single. time. will hopefully get very very old for those subject to being surrounded by that behavior. Note to self: just because you can do something you think is ahhhhmazing (*eye roll*)  doesn't mean you always should, I mean, have a bit of humility, thanks - From the rest of the world!

I just felt compelled to explain the impetus behind the senryú, and there you have it!... lol...I am glad that explanation felt natural enough to be thought as a poetic extension, that's definitely super cool, yet fully serendipitous!

Yes, I'm sure there are several versions of these people that we all probably know or have known. I wear my heart on my sleeve and sometimes can't really feign my frustration and obvious distaste, so it's extraordinarily lucky that I have an outlet like poetry to allow me to funnel some of that ill mannered temperament. .

I was missing you and your lovely comments and had hoped you hadn't forgotten me! I know you were curious about a spoken word recording, which I didn't do for the one that we had discussed but I ended up doing for the poem after. I am way more of a wallflower, IRL ..... You and DUP in general get to see the side me no one else usually sees. I try and use this place as an oasis, as a release, if possible...  sometimes it becomes difficult to achieve that feeling and security... depending..
