Sometimes I stand in the mirror
Checking off all of the things that I hate,
All of the things that make me ME,
Somehow seem second rate…
At first I was too heavy,
So I lost a little weight,
True self satisfaction
What’s missing from my plate.

No matter how many people tell you how good and cute you look now, it won't mean a thing if you don't believe it yourself. I was in the same boat. I lost 100 pounds and wasn't satisfied. It's taken a while to get to me.

Happiness and satisfaction have to come from within. I think you'll get there. So many young people worldwide seem to prop themselves up with other people's opinions and likes, without seeming truly happy. This is a direct and honest piece. You are beautiful inside and out. You don't have to believe me just yet. I think that getting older helps a lot.

Hoi hoi
So, let’s get honest:
- beauty doesn’t come from within
- I’m sort of twice your age, so you don’t need me - but a guy or people like me
- who’ll stand by you and tell you how beautiful you are
- not one year, not two years but the forever years to come
- and if that person, the one who is/or who are special to you, tells you…..
- and makes you feel…..
And in short: you know what you need but we’re afraid to ask? Yes, could very well be.
A very fine (very coloured) friend of mine wrote in one of her poems:
The more I eat
The more invisible I get
Teaching us not to be dependent upon judgement of people we don’t give a shit about. Or who don’t give a shit about us!
She wrote lotsa beautiful positive poems as well.
I hope to bolster your self esteem because you surely deserve it. More than deserve it.
And poem’s wise, keep on keepin’ on (Curtis Mayfield).
O yes, did I say already how munch I love your poem?
