Masks And Capes

Calling yourselves superheroes you should be ashamed
Green Lantern's candle has lost it's flame
The Flash as you know came up lame
While Wonder Woman's on the corner selling ass again

You're called Superman and your only proof
Is that you broke into my room and stole a tooth
Super hearing, super vision, they work all day
Why can't you see and hear my house at the end of the day

That's when the villians show their superior strength
Taking all of my love and holding it at length
Killers of hope, murderers of dreams
The Joker's drinking again and he's forming a team

You think Hulk's incredible because he turns green
Try black and blue, and to afraid scream
Ultimate strength, flying through the air
I've been thrown to the moon and fell from there

And Robin you poor misguided child
Moved in with Batman because the dude smiled
Now you're running around in cape and draws
Flying roof to roof in nothing but draws

I've learned to beware of a smile
Sitting to close while displaying a smile
An arm across my shoulder
Means someone's getting bolder

Don't tense up, be prepared to run
Remember if you get caught it won't be fun
Although I'm young I live on the edge
What hero you know can live on this edge

The bat and spidey both have a safe way down
I took lessons from Aquaman
Using my tears to learn not to drown
Not looking for love that can't be found

I've made peace with self
I can only care about self
Super heroes are all imaginary
And i've gotta live for the moment and me
