Souls Aflame

Souls Aflame

Once I confused
The ecstatic dancing and singing
Of my yearning soul
With physical desire

Forbidden fantasies
Of seductive lips
And kindled fingertips
Captured my mind

Oh how much I craved
To rip off your clothes
And to discover
Your body with my tongue

But then I realized
This kind of love
Was not meant for us
And probably never will be

Instead I discovered
The greatest mystery
I have been blessed with
In my entire life

The reunion of two souls
Inseparably connected
  Having known each other
From the beginning of time

But still I want you
I want you to be save
I want you to be happy
I want you to be healthy

And maybe one day
Orgiastic and sweaty
Passionate love
Will be ours again
