Ancient Celtic Monuments
Standing on this ancient mound
Shrouded in mist
Twelve foot tall stones
Creating a circular mystique
Stories of a long forgotten culture
Bringing together fables and myth
Stone inscriptions indiscernable
Symbols hiding their lost meaning
The Triskelion represents strength and progress
Over five thousand years old now
Other ancient druid carvings
Marking these monuments
As their offerings to the gods
That once roamed these celtic lands
Long before that Bethlehem child
And his twelve henchmen
Ever walked this earth
These standing stones
Testimonials to celtic determination
Newgrange isn't new
Not by any long shot
Five thousand years
It lay in hiding
Long before those
Egyptian ever built their pointy castles in the sand
The hill of Tara
May not be Everest
But the history of it
Makes Everest
A bile on the backside of an ant
A seat of power
A coronation of Kings that
Poor St Patrick failed to convert
Even the Isralites came calling
Believing their infamous
Arc of the covenant
Was housed in the house of power
New tech is amazing
It has shown an oval office
Of one hundred and seventy meters across
That would trump any orange with green envy
Over three hundred wooden posts holds it aloft
These deemed too precious
To see the light of day
In case of an onslaught of early decay
This brief tour of Irish monuments
Has sadly come to its end
We do hope you've enjoyed your visit
Please feel free to contact "Board Failte" for more information
There will be tea and scones
For all of you in reception
