Online Friendships
How do I explain
The universe intrudes
Life interrupting
Social online friendships
These virtual people
Have as much importance
As those I interact with
In a physical presence
My social skills
Are in dire need of an overhaul
Daily toil leaves me weak
Interacting with my one offspring
Has me twisting in cricles
The body is weak
But the mind is alive
It burns so bright
The sun is but a candle
It is difficult indeed
To rekindle that online
Love affair with my online family
All that I can offer
Is my deepest apologies

Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I have missed you and all my friends on here.
Life is truly a horrible obstacle course, at least for me anyway.
I was separated from my son, but since he turned 18, he's spending most of his time living with me now.
Which is where that line "the sun is but a candle" came from, and it's also one reason why I'm not on here as much as I'd like to be.

It's so good to hear from you. I agree with you, this virtual world is an odd duck to be sure. Yet for me these friendships are more real than the physical world.
I get to share all my deepest feelings with you, that I wouldn't dream of telling anyone I know here.
Only my better half knows all of me, my demons, my fantasies, all that keeps me awake at night and all the reasons I don't slit my wrists and my reasons if I did do that.
But the reason I'm still among the breathing population is my son is with me again.
For two years I hadn't seen or spoken to him, now he's back with a vengeance 😁.
When he's with now, I honestly can't look at this site, he's constantly messing with me 😊,.
Have to keep my phone constantly locked, he's always hiding it on me.
He's the main reason I haven't been on here, that and being tired all the time.

I totally get it. It is hard to balance the distractions and being online.
My boys are older so I do get some peace, occasionally. LOL
they still ask me to fix them something to eat or to watch a show with them, which I do. What is the point of writing if we don't appreciate the present. The here and now. It is what inspires to write. Especially if that life has a peace of your soul who runs around messing with our phones. LOL I can totally see that btw.
