While On Earth

["Et Ses Octo" or Eights 'n Sixes]

The moon will rise in nighttime skies,

long after we are gone …

the birds will sing and take to wing,

and poets’ words live on.

The sun will blaze on Summer days,

and flow’rs return in Spring …

it's good to know that when we go,

we'll not disturb a thing.

The rain will fall and trees grow tall,

life will go on, it's true.

So, while on earth, for what it's worth,

I'll share my heart with you.
