The elixir of the gods

Dreaming of legends bold
and heroic quests of old
possessing a fearless heart
and a valiant spirit  
I bravely venture forth
in bleary eyed reverence
on a prophesied quest
to the altar of the Coffee Maker
and the Oracle of the Bean
seeking guidance to the holy brew
as did Jason and the Argonauts long ago
in search of the Golden Fleece
to challenge the gods  
and dare the fates
fighting razor clawed demons
meowing for my soul
in slipper socks and bathrobe
I risk a perilous journey
from the bedroom to the kitchen
to fulfill the quest
and appease the gods
I have earned my place among the heroes  
as I sip the elixir of the gods
