Possession, Obsession , Smacked Flesh
Punishment fits the crime
You need me for a lot
Mostly you need our obsession
Formulated over time
You'll never admit the need
I'm okay with that
Forged and engraved
There's no turning back
I reeled them in with a title
Least I could do
The real thing happens in silence
One of us will speak
There's no ultimate answer
Passion and dense humidity
Heavy air
Those quiet moments
Beautiful possession
Obtuse obsession
Smacked Flesh because we care
You need me for a lot
Mostly you need our obsession
Formulated over time
You'll never admit the need
I'm okay with that
Forged and engraved
There's no turning back
I reeled them in with a title
Least I could do
The real thing happens in silence
One of us will speak
There's no ultimate answer
Passion and dense humidity
Heavy air
Those quiet moments
Beautiful possession
Obtuse obsession
Smacked Flesh because we care

I am honored by your comment K
There are relationships that form and sometimes that cat can't stay in the bag, I've got to write about them...
I'm glad you could see the intimacy so clearly.....
Thank you

This is definitely the softer side. It’s a necessary part of the process.
You have certainly captured that here.
As always, love the painting. There is an urgency about it. I like that.

People underestimate obsession
It's where the joy of wanting marinates ..
Thanks Francisco

Yes
I feel like I've majored in obsession my whole adult life
Often it's a concept, sometimes it turned to possession
Wins and losses but always fire 🔥
Nothing beats that feeling
Thanks on the poem and art NG

Really enjoyed!
Effective use of the "you" / direct address...seemed very specific, charged with an intensity--
Love the line: "one of us will speak," especially as it comes after the ambiguous line, "lured them in with a title," which suggests you're speaking to the object itself.
A great movie, "In the Mood for Love," (2000). When asked if the title referred to the lead characters, the director claimed it referred to the movie itself, that was "in the mood for love."
Enjoyed!

I appreciate your comment and movie reference
When I started to write this one I had different concepts but I wanted the reader to be pulled in by the title. Once there I wanted them to know more about the cerebral part of such relationships as they relate to this particular state of grace. I wasn't sure how it would be received but it's doing pretty well.
I thank you always for your interest in my writing and your detailed comments. Getting a Parsons award is a BIG DEAL ...
THANKS

Oh yes! very intimate... This obsessive need to feel everything so deeply pushing beyond the limits - mentally and physically. I need - the rowing paddle, I need - the passion and dense humidity of salty sweat, I need - the crazy obsession... Oh, how incredible it is to be forged and engraved and feel things so deeply. The bondage and dominance excites so much. There is definitely no turning back once you have opened Pandora's box... Those explosive feelings that you have captured so well in your painting.
Always in trouble, what's my punishment?

I know a lot about trouble
Obviously you do too
You edge
I like to deny
Until there is a collective want for release and you've gone beyond ...
We're same KX

BIG LIKE again sir.
Those three closing lines really sum up what must be a very torrid relationship/agreement.
Love the color scheme in that as well.
Outstanding stuff.
