HIDING IN POETRY
FEAR
I once heard a person say,
"If you really knew me,
you wouldn't like me."
I overheard it being
said of a boxer,
"He talks a big fight
but is a real loser."
BOTH
statements remind me how
some poets, I have no
one in mind, create
fantasies, tales, scenes,
pretending experiences
as being their OWN, when
they are only pretending,
which is okay to live in
a make-believe world;
some plagiarize the works
of others for lack of experience
or writing ability.
To each his own.
QUESTION.
What would it be like
to step out of some poems,
not all obviously, and live
and experience what we write
about.
YES,
I'm just thinking.
Are YOU?
