Image for the poem Badly Drawn Animals

Badly Drawn Animals

pencil sharpe, canvas blank
images flowing through thick head
touching the charcoal tip to page

badly drawn animals languishing
in their chains, behind locked doors
of rusty cages, are amusing to see

cellophane people rush to town
to go on a safari, to gawk at animals

badly drawn, they are on a caravan today
elephants stomp through the courtyard
trumpeting loudly, can't you hear them sound

across the Sahara desert, the lions roar
I see a militant monkey man
he's swinging from the trees,

the cellophane people watch in astonishment
eyes full of wonderment, from my page
my sketches are leaping onto the street

badly drawn animals broken their chains
escaping their rusty cage, born free

Author's Note
Badly Drawn Animals, well this is a poem I recently was mulling over it basically means that the animals in a humans eyes can be ugly and that they stupid creatures...but actually animals are more intelligent than humans think
