For a few moments America
took a step back in time
old ideas became the new
drive-in movies came back to life
more family time together
kids playing in the backyard
we even cleaned up the air
we breathe, If only for awhile
people cheered for the
stimulas checks, at the same time
dying at the hands of a global pandemic
COVID-19 is taking away our personal touch,
commonly becoming more robotic
and less human.
I can certainly foresee the singularity
coming, not literally anytime soon
but in the many things we now do
sometimes I wonder
are we being groomed?

What an interesting topic. I wonder you aren’t right in this theory. I feel like these steady trends become ways of life and little by little old ways give way. I don’t like it. Especially the non touching part. I enjoy hugs. A very thoughtful piece. And I love the font and format of this super write. H🌷

first we don’t shake hands anymore then no more hugging which that’s where we are now.
Then The wealthy will figure out how to put a human brain in an android which makes us a cyborg ar that point. Ugh! I mean we will never see that, but still it’s coming. I like that you too like the personal touch it scares me to see where the future is headed..
Ps I centered my poem for the format and when you hit full edit, I chose new Roman times for the font, then I slanted it :)

Good Write ... Interesting ... back in the 90's the US NAVY was designing the new Ford Class carriers and the Seawolf Class Attack Submarines using computers to help manage ergonomics and other particulars based on entered data ... though not completely automated we are already there in parts ... I also seem to remember NASA using a similar technique on parts of the Space Shuttle ... as soon as computers were used we stepped down that path form Bletchley park to infinity ... Bless and love ...

I went form bellbottoms to spandex in my life before I was 10 ... (not personally wearing, though my mom did make me wear one pair of bellbottoms in grade school ... ) and my dad worked on a cutting edge computer that took up a whole room and had the power of a Casio watch ... to any phone having dozens to hundreds of times the capacity to compute and watched my Cousin make the front page in 90? for manipulating atoms to spell IBM which formed the basis of all Hard Drive storage today ... My Disk drive that stored 4 TB's (4000 GB's) is the same 3.5" hard drive from the 80's just with more space on it ... I have tons of info like that spilling out of my ears lol

That's an interesting theory, Jackie. If we are being groomed, then it's by nature reminding us that ultimately it's her that's in control of man's destiny. She will survive LONG after man is gone; she will regenerate beautifully. I feel things like this are dire reminders of that fact; however, the powers-that-be simply don't want to listen.

One thing this crisis taught me is to appreciate and love much harder....
Well covid-19 might have taken so much from us but it might have just opened it eyes to little things we didn't pay attention to...
