I love how you relate the tornent caused by the butterfly affect to the intense beating of hearts caused by the fleeting melding of thought. Not sure why but I really like the cadence of "grace to grit." Maybe it's that leather and lace contrast.

We wonder though even if the moment is so fleeting as is the best of our moments. It's is still better to write of a fleeting moment than not realizing what you had until it was gone. We had moments with certain individuals in our past that still roll across our mind. We find our self heating up, swelling, and felling as if it has just happened. The human life and our experiences are a funny thing as to what we retain and dismiss. But together we beat so much harder, flutter so much fast, and soar so much higher

I love these comments, Me... I agree with you, too. I think sometimes it goes both ways, where we are aware, in the moment, of the power the moment has and other times we don't realize the significance, until much later, in hindsight. I believe I've become more in-tune with trying to cherish those moments while in the moment, with my aging and by not taking anything for granted, I guess. I like how you too, can remember some things just like they happened yesterday. It's nice to read that...Here's to soaring as high as possible! Thanks for your visit and your awesome insights, my friend. ;)

I have a butterfly tattooed on me, with the word ‘chaos’ written underneath for this very reason. It is in the chaos that we find ourselves. That we never know how following our hearts this will echo out into the rest of our lives. Eloquently expressed in your poem here too.

Love the retrospective tone here having been through it and now being able to write about it from the distance of time. Your mastery of language as applied poetically is an awesome thing to read. You take me into the experience of love lost and let me see it as you do now. That is a wondrous emotional journey to behold.
