Goblet
At each moon's rising
she walks to the edge,
tips her goblet
to anoint the waves
with the blood of lives unlived
Gratefully letting go
of burdens that are not hers to carry,
shedding layers of responsibilities
she was never meant to bear
And when all has been released
to the eternal tides,
she turns back
with no regrets,
knowing all that remains
is truly
hers.
she walks to the edge,
tips her goblet
to anoint the waves
with the blood of lives unlived
Gratefully letting go
of burdens that are not hers to carry,
shedding layers of responsibilities
she was never meant to bear
And when all has been released
to the eternal tides,
she turns back
with no regrets,
knowing all that remains
is truly
hers.

Dear, K
This is such a cleansing piece. The idea of casting out unnecessary, unwanted burden on the waves and in the wind is frankly relaxing and necessary to survive with sanity intact. The last stanza i a happy declaration of Independence. Bravissima Goddess Titanium. ❣️❣️🌹

I can almost envision a monthly fertility ritual by a woman in an ancient civilization. Well done, BT.

Acceptance is a beautiful thing, and necessary to a smooth cycle of events.
I really enjoyed this, BT.

Totally agree with GW, a very cleansing peace. Ah, the ability to release those regrets and other things that put us in a bad place is an amazing skill. One that I still have a lot of work to do on. My OCD grabs something and beats me with it until I can't think straight. But I am inspired by this write! :)

I'm glad to have inspired you! I don't really possess this skill of letting go either. I'm still a work in progress.
Thanks for the love!

Dear K,
“ Gratefully letting go
of burdens that are not hers to carry,

Every time I’m resolved to living by the afore quote they suck me right back in!
I thought this was a wonderful piece describing the letting go process. I don’t suppose you have any tricks up your sleeve to keeping it gone? Anyway, lovely poem. H🌷

Hmm, I dunno... I wonder if that trick comes with age? I haven't got there yet myself.

Beautifully vulnerable and yet it has a graceful composure. Terrific emotional presence and feel of candor.
