30 Seconds of forever

Now I'm one of those people
Who when watching a game show
Shout out the answers
I know they can't hear me
but in a funny way
I'm trying to see if I am right.

Getting a few answers correct
Is always followed by the answer:
'I could win this'

Then there's one of my best friends
He and I, don't have many common interests
Yet we have a dynamic that works
I've honestly never lost at 30 seconds
When playing with him as a partner
This created the idea that I may be good at this game

That is until one day I played with someone
Who for the life of me
Couldn't explain anything

They'd take a card then sigh
Clearly having gone blank
As I am there initially trying to be motivating

When I was explaining
Clearly it wasn't landing

To eventually realising that
That was the evening I'd lose

I mean who could account
for someone whose
best description of things is 'oh'
To which I'd remark:

'just say anything'

I find it funny really
The irony of it all

Will we ever need the trivia knowledge?
I honestly cannot say
It's not like I see myself really going to any of those game shows

It's so easy to forget the core of the experience
That you played this game
To bond with the people around you

Granted someone will win
But everyone will have a laugh or two

Oh wait I'm still undefeated in......
