Optics, pacifying topics, aren't as they purport
Getting support from courts of public opinions
Treasured by multitudes of mindless minions
Getting in the same wagons as popular bands
Being politically correct instead of taking a stand
As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he
So refuse to believe in all these fallacies
It's time to leave Fantasy Island and get back to shore
Without change, more of the same will be in store
Ignore the theatrical media that's being presented
Consume this food for thought and slowly ingest it
Be a prophet rather then chase profits like filthy rats
Cheese grease palms armed with Wuhan bats
Sit back and detach from scripts you're tethered to
Behind the clouds you'll find a different point of view

A very mental engaging write to make one ponder the dire possibilities of social reform. However, only a squeaky when gets oil my poet. In addition, some occurrences most change with the times; not saying we may agree, if not, then be the thundering voice, be the outcry, you will be surprised who echoes in return

Damon, you've written something truly powerful and honest here. Excellent rhyme scheme and rhythm, but most of all of your message rains harsh truths. Society has fallen under a spell and it just seems that many folks won't really open their eyes.
