deep under ground

 
do you remember me anxious and shaken?

a newbie trying to find a way to voice my pain
a new resident of du with no writing skills
I learned from all of you poets

sometimes tough critiques built my character
did I take it well?
lol not at the time
but I stuck with this writing thing

rose to the top as a devil woman
perhaps at the time, I was
down to the bottom
my honesty peaked as I was changing
now happy to be loved for who I am no pretenses

I've come to love all the poets here
with voices uniquely their own
we build each other up
sharpening our writing skills
until our blade is razor sharp
and able to cut through the darkness that threatens

I love how in sync we are
often writing on similar wavelengths
it's like the universe is sending out pulses
only the poets can hear

I've spent 2011-2020 here at du
I couldn't be happier to be taking a soul journey with all you beautiful people
here's to another year of discovery
