Sometimes we put to much faith in to what or who we can't understand, Remember Icarus didn't build the wings his father, maybe if the father had made him pitch in their creation explaining constantly why not to high or low. But he gave a boy and a hardheaded one that didn't pay attention ten minute worth of crucial info. we were say is collect more data before leaping, whether soaring to high or flying to low. Tight work Lady

Yes, his father didn't allow him that precious information about WAX being the glue of his feathers...
Hence maybe if daddy didn't lie by omission, then Icarus wouldn't have flown so close to the sun, causing him to fall and drown.
Lies = Death
is my lesson for the day.

Nice little write blue...the story of Icarus is an interesting one... but I gotta admit I'm now interested In reading more about these darkened dreams you speak of... 🔥⚘

My sad darkness isn't interesting in the least, Eli    
It's classic heartbreak, really.....    
Girl meets boy    
Boy writes sexy, interesting poetry.  
Girl is intrigued    
Boy flirts openly    
Girl responds privately    
Boy is utterly smitten  
Girl is too    
Boy claims loyalty over and over  
while carrying on a very personal online relationship    
Girl believes Boy's every word and reciprocates in kind, for months, thinking he was hers.    
Boy is a fucking HUGE liar and hurts girl when he's caught in mountainous lies.    
Girl tells him to fuck off and removes herself completely from his orbit.    
 
Hence, thoughts of Icarus....    
Sorry for the venting.

*It's sad, in one fact... that I am a very kind person, who now was been turned into an unfortunate dupe.. infuriatingly so.  
I hope I didn't scare you off.

sorry to hear this unfortunate yet too common tale...however, you have a silver lining in your well - id love to see you write this poem all over again with the energy in this note. just a thought. i would say trust me on this...but you only need to trust yourself. this here is lava if you wish to dip your pen in it.

I have been sulking all day and thinking this same thing, (almost) as I wrote this originally, very quick this morning... and since then, well, the kettle boils. You do understand that lava 🌋, don't you?

Feel free to vent on me anytime... anytime at all... I'm not easily scared off by much of anything... I am truly sorry for your heartache... people suck... more and more as we age... and it hurts more because we need it more... lifes lonely without love and dreams... a small reminder that nothing though... is ever as it seems... I have a feeling your heart will be healed over when you need it most... Hope's... and wishes... with all the little fishes in the big Blue sea... happiness will find the earnest seeker and set thee free... the old adage I mutter to myself a little to often... but I believe it... because I have too... I'm not sorry I asked... Ah, but less than 24 hrs later the darkness gets dispersed by the light, like it does every day.

Enjoyed the Icarus slant.

Unless you're in a particular part of the world, where it's dark 6 months out of the year....
Darkness always finds a way...
It's how you decide to deal with it's harsh realities that makes you either stay in flight or crash into the sea...

Okay, you got me.  I didn't take into account the poles and above the polar circles.  I made the assumption you weren't an Eskimo!  : )

Its an astronomical myth that the poles are dark for 6 months.  It doesn't take into account twilight. Even when the sun is below the horizon, the atmosphere bends the light, providing twilight.  So in conclusion, even in "your darkness" I theorize there is some twilight! The sun wants to tickle you. : )

I know, I was being a pain...lol

After reading your actual poem my thoughts were in one direction. After reading all the comments my thoughts did a 180 as regards the poem. There are a lot of crumbs out there. But the very people we’re wired genetically to love and trust shouldn’t set us up to fail (or die in the case of Icarus). As for the the classic boy meets girl debacle, you’ve come to the right place. I’ll put a hex on him.  
I’m sorry you’ve experienced this. It’s awful on so many levels. However, your poem is not- it’s terrific and letting it out is that much less poison eating away your kindness. Great write. H🌷
