Usually when power goes out here, it's freezing to death that we have to worry about... amazing how ill-suited we humans are to our environment!

You must be a Floridian too. lol I took an ativan and slept through the storm. Went to sleep with a light drizzling outside and it was the same when I woke, no power outage here on the east coast. Your title was great with it's equipoise of depth and cheek.

Tampan or Tampanian? idk.. I think it's Tampan.. Anyway, yes... I'm in Tampa and we were only slightly jostled. Yet the powers that (didn't) be, found it humorous to have our power go out for about 5-6 hours or so, just enough to get sticky inside, even though the weather wasn't very bad at all. I should have just smoked a little and slept through it as well, good call! Yet my (wee) anxiety wasn't allowing such an easy escape... of course. *eye roll... lol... The sun was out and shining about midday today,. that's how fast Eta moved through! (it's 513pm now) I think my power was out longer... hahaha
Luckily, it's back on and so is the AC! Yay 🎉

I've always thought how the dawn brings hope for the new day. Still, I'm a little baffled that it's hot in November.
But through this outage we got two great poems, two days in the life...

I visited  Miami once years ago................way too hot for.  Promplty came back to Montreal.  OK;  it can get very humid here so then  more old people pass away.

It's never lost on me, the power of air conditioning!
