Behind a Loneliness

( a Quatern )

Behind a loneliness that grows a stain,
There is no reason to remember why.
A heavy deluge of my thoughts like rain
Is spreading ‘cross the ceiling like a sigh.

A split begins to crawl across the space
Behind a loneliness that grows a stain,
As spider veins will turn into a face
With hollow eyes expressive of its pain.

A pall of weariness, a constant drain
Is keeping me from rising where I lay.
Behind a loneliness that grows a stain,
The storm will keep me hidden from the day

The hand of Time, no ticking does it make
To help me know there’s nothing left to gain.
To recognize the mirrors are for my sake
Behind a loneliness that grows a stain.
