The Wonder of Wandering
“Not all those who wander are lost”
JRR Tolkien
The Wonder of Wandering
There are
which ways twist
and wind
fork or even fade away
the kind
that lead nowhere
at least nowhere
today
Some paths
are laid out well
signed in map
and hiked
from fern to fell
O’er bridges o’er styles
walked a million men
for every mile
and women too
amongst the masses
clamber o’er
mountain passes
March the track
from A to B
Seeing all
they thought they’d see
Others tread each step anew
Meandering through
aimlessly
Wandering famously
not caring where to
who knows
what you might see
where you might be
when you get a little lost
and find yourself free
