Frugal Times

pass the tick tock
of wall clock like geckos
clinging tight on bamboo walls
it's face indifferent

looked at it everytime
thinking it ought to stop
just a tiny little pause
to allow looking back

to amend what was
mistakes made trundled back
could've not said yes
answered that one phone call

maybe take a different route
no hurry to attain breasts
just enjoy the bird calls
or the babbling brooks

could've made dresses
out of the blue sky
slippers from knitted
weeds, crowns of pretty flowers

Tick tock never minding
intense thoughts on a lazy
Sunday morning
cup of tea all gone.
