Pondering Stubbornly

tapping at my scull  
I know this word  
yet for the life of me  
cannot recall its meaning  
Is it some literary technique?  
Or the description of some sort of abstract irony?  
I could look it up of course  
But where’s the fun in that?  
 
Maybe if I think about something else  
the answer will pop into my head  
 
what should I do to distract myself hmmm?
