death-sentence

♪a rhymed, mirrored quad-octet♪

death drinks life with flagrant passion
plucking fair game from the nest
pleased to leave behind him
d e b a c l e s  of  woe.

strong enough

f o r  t h e   notion
that this  w i c k e d  foe
has no  m e a n s  to bind him
is  a   t a l l   t a l e  at  i t s  b e s t.
death shall die without compassion,
for  a  love  that  knows  no  ration,
having  f a c e d  the  bitter test
with  the  cross  behind  Him,
wants the world to know
love’s   devotion,
duly  tough,

in the earth  b e l o w:
One  alone  can  stop  him
by that which He has promised:
Resurrection—death's   Assassin.
