dUologUe

A soft answer turneth away wrath:
but grievous words stir up anger
(Prov. 15:1 KJV).

you and me,
person to person:
let's talk it over,
stem that war,
because the anger in your eyes
flames with the ire of troubled skies.

can't you see
there is no reason
to run for cover?
let's just spar.
the evil deed is not yet done:
let's dialogue without the gun!

cutting words
bloody as metal,
lyric defilement
base and selfish,
incite uncivil wars among
disciples of the devil's throng.

haven’t you heard
how love's acquittal
of hate's revilement
help to banish
the evil liberties of life,
when thinking men resolve their strife?

rage is blind:
let him not lead you
into the abyss,
eyes wide open.
define the conflict at its source;
exit the box to seek recourse.

you will find
passions that bleed you
bend to the promise
softly spoken.
sweet compromise heals contrite hearts
resolved new dUologUe to chart.
