In a crash of yellow maple leaves

Pedestals of ebony marble rock side to side,
dweller placed on top bends inhales and
skydives off the teetering edge
into the dark eye of a twister as
the air spins over the ledge of a
snake-pit blanketed in shed skins and feces


people whisper as heads shake and they
laugh with neon fingers pointing a glow
as they spread the she-said party line and
the I heard symphonies on grapevines knocking
marble platforms down with the vibrations of
hits and pokes laced with poison hid by smiles


onyx horizon eats the sunshine spitting out
bits and chunks of goldenrod into sewers to
float downstream with the gutter rats and
with trash tossed into cracked manholes
steaming with the cologne of toilet flushed
shit logs and broken daydreams.
