Child of the Universe
Sashays through the Milky Way, feminine charms on display
flaming red silk floats, stars beneath her feet gloat.
she knows the universe is envious, of course
she glides past Jupiter amid it's swirling storms
weaves among the many moons then rides on rings of Saturn
Neptune draws her in, the cold penetrates her skin
waltzing on her tiptoes, strolling in the clouds
skirt ripples like sea tides, rhythmic winds collide

Wait for Me
Cool summer evenings
every winter and fall
reverie of you and me
so easy to recall
You remember, I know
I feel you in my bones
a photo album in my mind
along with ghostly moans
Gulls and terns harmonize
they sing a mournful song
call my name from on high
I've waited for so long
You watched me o'er these many years
of this I have no doubt
today I cry happy tears
our love floods heaven throughout
Look for me upon the stairs
I'll glide up each starlit step
our song will play while...
every winter and fall

Understanding
Step into my essence, dance to my own song
unusual quintessence, breath my sweet perfume
waltz my existence, inhale where I belong
hear my adolescence, where sorrow is entombed
Feel my heart beat, understand it's kind and giving
crawl beneath my skin, let empathy abide within
view my world with eyes of wonder, ever dreaming
have a sense of my intentions, understand where I've been
Speak my thoughts, misunderstandings will be erased
know my desire to rid injustice, so mankind may live in peace
walk among those dying daily,...

Lovers Dance
Hip to hip, his hand pressed,
In the small of my back.
Van Morrison is playing,
My classic little dress is black.
Van's voice is pouring into,
My soul like honey smooth and sweet.
The golden nectar flows,
From my head down to my feet.
Ambrosia, this precious gold,
Bleeds into my man.
Swaying, leaning, pressing,
Blending so that we are Van.
Flesh melting together,
Our feet dance in sync.
Blended bodies bend and bow,
Like there was no earth beneath.
Music, like long lost lovers,
Together...

Ramsgate
He said he's from across the pond,
A place of cliffs and moors.
She sees him standing in the wind,
The ocean waves do roar.
The time is not this era now,
'Tis one of time gone by.
When two lost souls meet on the moor,
One look, a touch, a smile.
The honest, urgent stories tell,
Of sadness, pain and sorrow.
They are fitting for this lonely moor,
A promise for tomorrow.
She looks at him and sees herself,
He sees himself in her.
Together they defy all odds,
They live beyond a cure.
It matters...

Layla's Lantern
Scarlet silk sweeps, swirls, swings, reflects moon's light
upon rocks she stands, weeps, wails into the endless night
Scarlet silk flows like his blood flowed in that morning light
a beacon on the shore guides the lost souls back to life
Winds whisper wistfully while waves crash on the rock
they pity her they know he is not coming back
Winds whisper wistfully wishing they could turn the clock
Layla's lit lantern village ladies mock
Amphitrite, goddess of the ocean hears her lament above sea's din
Scarlet silk dressed woman heeds, steps...

Inner Child
Each summer by train or road she came east, she came home
Sister Moon pulls at the tides just as she over me presides
toward 'Darwin's little pond', I return to life's beginning, life's bond
tiny toes toddle to shore's edge where calm for me is dredged
Wonder and delight I breathe the breath of life
unable to explain feelings the sea gave like she was my best friend
escaped into the ocean where I float comforted by her motion
she was mother to this child waves rocking her a while
Hold my breath and plug my nose underwater I would go ...

Where Memories Meet
White snow blankets where he lays
frosted breath whispers love's malaise
frozen tears drop crystal tapestry
covers my dearest with my agony
Within the frigid snowy day
on knees I weep while children play
one tiny voice speaks, ''are you ok?''
my heart, jolted, gave way
A shrine placed as a crown
where he lay in the ground
Christmas green and red upon his head
where he rests among the dead
Broken heart, bereft, keening low
rocking to and fro, no comfort in the snow
let the winter birds sing...

Romanza
Mauve, pastel pink clouds blush
sun slings low at dusk
behind skyline flames drown in water's hush
Indian summer's paintbrush gently strokes
the end of season, in turn evokes
visions of gold, orange and red dressed oaks
their crown and glory does earth cloak
earth's love to our hearts spoke
Slipping summer romanza sails away
we stand at water's edge washed by sea's spray
