Limericks, Nr.04 — A Stretched Limerick
“The road to hell is paved with good intentions …”
that’s why ‘the good’ precipitate detentions
for worshiping the idol
makes people fratricidal --
I know it’s old but thought it worth a mention.

Some things never get too old to mention, Josh.
On the contrary - they're prudent reminders.

"Some things never get too old to mention,..."
that's a good reminder - every generation has to rediscover old truths and articulate them in their own way. Thank you - and for the RL.

"...keep on stretching..."
... Ah ... so you noticed I haven't been doing my daily yoga (stretching) practice of late (can't get away with anything here on DUP) :)) And thank you for the RL.

Thank you (the first line was one of my father's favourite sayings - probably born of the war years and its aftermath rebuilding a life)

Fair point BK thank you - and some stretches are more helpful than others (I'm thinking of Portia Nelson's poem "Autobiography in Five Short Chapters")

Dear J,
I always think it’s awesome when someone inspires a piece. This is great! H🌷

Dear H, I agree. As soon as I read Harry's poem this one immediately sprang to mind. I feel it's that level of "connect" and experience of "something other" going on in this world that gives me hope. We can by-pass the system to inspire each other.
