clenched fists
jaws shut tight
furrowed brows
eyes a bulging red
fire
the belly
a whirring thing
the chest
no time for mercy
or morals
laws
rules
ethics
can get fucked
hear only the
blood curdling screams
veins on temples
about to burst
mind
over
matter
this is the moment
where movement is
unhinged
unrestricted
dagger in hand
dagger...
dug.

when emotions take over or as they say someone explodes after pent up anger... human nature, unfortunately the violence is part of it. Abhorrent sometimes. It is what it is. Ignoring, refusing to acknowledge its existence is foolhardy I say.
Welcome dear poet Friend.
Appreciate your kindness, support and deep insight.
Always.

thank you for sharing your insight for it is insight that some of us need to be able to deal with the outside world for its truly a jungle out here in the real world...i know as i understand what you mean for sometimes you want to just explode just to release the anger that burns with a barn fire

A very good description of restrained anger, something well documented to be unhealthy both emotionally and physically.
I can only hope this was not a case of recent events, but if so, they say find an outlet for them such as going for a run, exercising, or some physical exertion that will take your mind off of it. Since I've never been one for wasted movement, (LOL), here's a story from many years ago that was extremely enjoyable while releasing these deadly emotions, though I can not remember the direct cause of them now.
Our youngest daughter, shortly after getting her first car, wrecked it, (her fault and no injuries), in an area she was not supposed to be in at the time. We had the vehicle towed to our house until we decided what to do with it, OH, now I remember the reason for my anger, (HER WRECKING HER F**King CAR IN AN AREA SHE WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE IN AT THE TIME!!!!). Anyway, while doing some work involving a hammer, thinking about the situation, and having the solution in hand, I took out my anger on one of the fenders of the car that was already damaged beyond repair, beating it half to death until I was nearly exhausted and my frustration with her likewise.
She still remembers this and claims she was happy it was the car and not her, (hahaha). She now has her own teenaged son, (revenge is sweet!)
Nicely penned, brother.
P.S. I'll ship you a hammer, if wished?

LOL !! I have had some glorious moments spending my rage on pumpkins, post-Halloween (while kids were at school so they couldn't witness the demise of their handiwork).
I also remember a good few hours spent smashing away a massive layer of ice off my driveway early one spring, after my husband was diagnosed with cancer.
I can understand why those "Rage Room" businesses are thriving....

Sooo!!, I'm not alone, in my quest for total destruction of innocent bystanding inanimate objects. LOL. Sounds like we're of like mind.
I do hope your husband has since gotten better. I can only imagine the feeling of fear and helplessness when learning of that diagnoses.

The short, choppy style conveys this buildup of emotion so clearly.
It demands to be spent. My rule is to always choose an inanimate target....
Release, then peace.
Good write

welcome dear Friend!
appreciate beyond words, your attention and insight and yes...awesome advice... :-))
yes it demands to be spent... otherwise the alternative is burning own's innards!
thank you for the honor of the listing and kind appreciation. and also sharing your experience and how you dealt with the moments such as this scribble tried to convey!
and also on another note... after reading both you and Teri... was tempted to edit the scribble and a turn ... this one:
"dagger in hand
dagger...
dug.
now rest in peace/pieces
pumpkin"
;-)

We human beings...what makes us human is that, unlike other animals...we have the ability to be so darkly irrational. Brilliant ink CF...bravo!

I'm late to the show CF - apologies
I've been bad about commenting folks lately...I go back N forth with my concentration at times.
What a dark Write, can feel the edge, the intensity ...In my mind the minimalist delivery helps thrust the edge in.
Excellence Good Sir!!!
