Limbs
He wraps his long tree-like limbs around you
And holds you
Says you are his fruit,
And you apologize
The summer heat licks you with madness
You carve into the flesh of your fruit
To feel something and then the grateful nothing
You attempt to murder the fruit on his tree
He didn't know you were already rotting
The sun is settling red
You watch the blood of fruit settle down past the silhouette of mountain,
same as it runs down the silhouette of bark and limbs
And still he holds you
And you-
You apologize to him for this too
And holds you
Says you are his fruit,
And you apologize
The summer heat licks you with madness
You carve into the flesh of your fruit
To feel something and then the grateful nothing
You attempt to murder the fruit on his tree
He didn't know you were already rotting
The sun is settling red
You watch the blood of fruit settle down past the silhouette of mountain,
same as it runs down the silhouette of bark and limbs
And still he holds you
And you-
You apologize to him for this too
