Now that is a compliment, BB. I think moving someone emotionally is something every poet strives toward. So thank you. xo

A lot of us are inept at controlling our perceptions.
I am one such guilty party.
This resonates so well with me, girlfriend!
Sick ass visual, btw! (;

Dear A,
And a great big AMEN!
Once again, you have provided a piece that is in peace and harmonizes against any crazy rant that the head voices might try to dominate. Beautiful poem! Thank you for this calming prayer. H🌷

I loved seeing this evolve over the course of the week; the added aliteration and elaboration making a great poem even greater.
Well done, Hun!

Hallmark may have a job waiting for you.
Can't argue with it.
Too bad i cannot get much use out of it.
Bravo, anyway.

This is pretty illuminating - breaking down the thinking process and emotional reaction.
This is going to be a good comp.

Thank you, Wally. It's one of the best comps we've held so far I think! Appreciate your response.

"Mind precedes all mental states. Mind is their chief; they are all mind-wrought. If with an impure mind a person speaks or acts suffering follows him like the wheel that follows the foot of the ox." Words of the Buddha. Just a profound philosophical poem A...great tribute.

Brings to mind some words from Shakespeare's Hamlet:
"... for there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so"
One teeny-tiny suggestion - neither good nor bad ;) - the line "really ruminate over the notion" seems to flow better without "over", because the flow from "ruminate" into "the" feels natural. Somehow, when it is included, "over" seems to take undue emphasis. Probably just how I am reading it.
There's some very tasty alliteration going on with "really... ruminate ... realise". (and, perhaps "realising", although that's somewhat more separated). Plus, repeating "realise" twice in the poem helps to unify the poem, and keep "realize" in the reader's mind.

That's a good suggestion and I will probably edit the template. I was probably paying attention to some assonance of o or something! LOL!
Thank you, SeaCat! Always appreciate your sharp eye!

Great, but challenging. It's so easy to engage with obsessive thoughts regarding past events and allow them to take over.

That is very true, Lozzamus! It is easier said than done; however, with practice is can be mastered!
Thank you for your observations. They are appreciated.
