IMHO all of this came to be
when we gave up
barter, trading and became indolent.
But discounted what i just said,
Your spill is Spot On, Sister : )

Thank you, Tallen! I tend to agree with your assessment. I used to love how farmers and tradesmen would barter their wares with one another. I actually remember that practice in deep south Mississippi.
I appreciate your support greatly.

Intense. That you can read some of the word on those burning pages makes it that much more. As always, an amazing marriage of word and imagery. ❤📝

I agree, Rose. I am just hoping it's not too late for our grandchildren to exist in cleanliness and peace.
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much.

An excellent portrayal in words and image .. it's definitely quite frightening how much ignorance there is in this country . . . we are running out of time us humans once Mother Nature decides she's had quite enough

Thank you, JeJe. The ignorance is astounding, but the purposeful discarding of knowledge for convenience is staggering.
Always appreciate your presence.

I will agree with you on the elections, DaDa. But not that it's too late - hopefully, anyway. But that doesn't mean you aren't right!

If the wor(l)d was God then we'd better have a plan to save what we consist of or we will burn up..
I love the picture with this poem, I've read a couple Wendell Berry poems and I'm starting to feel that philosophy he had of the dependency of humans on earth as our origin..

Thank you, PR. This was definitely a spark of Berry's work. Not enough to include it in the competition, I fear. But still, you noticed that spark and I am grateful for it.
I agree with you regarding his philosophy as well. . .

My hope is that when it’s all said n done
those who care enough will help save even the fools that don’t... from our careless, ignorant
abuse of nature... excellently spilled content my dear :)

Potent write. It's up to us to plant, grow food, waste less. Governments won't make it easy despite the rhetoric; they follow the agenda of their paymasters, which is an entirely different one.

Thank you, Josh. And you are so right. It's all about the mighty dollar and profit lines now. Revelations describes a great whore who sold herself - can't help but think that is America now with it's 2% of wealth tipping the scales in favor of such profit vs the welfare of the country and people themselves.

Thank you, Ophie! Raw is right - like knocking a scab off of the heart.
Good to see you back.

Re. The Wor(l)d
Brava, Ahavati! A poignant shot across the bow of the relatively few that ruin this world for every other seemingly powerless inhabitant.

Thank you, Gahddess! Isn't that the truth in almost everything. Seems a minority always try to ruin it for the majority.
