Wanderlust I Hear You Singing

Where is home

No where boy... For you at least
listen..
do you hear that singing?
ask the birds
where is it you fly
when the winter freeze is upon us

So pack your suitcase
grab your mandolin
that night air whispered
sound advice
say your farewells now or not at all
it's the open road you seek

Australia..
a distant memory from the dream time
raised in a house that was not yours
little sanctuary and solace found there
down(where it all began)
under(the song first sung)
a dysfucktional roof
what passed for a bedroom
more a four walled prison cell
nothing here this cold place
no love in the home to be found
for you at least dear (scape) goat

Run...
While you still got legs
find yourself
travelling gypsie
behind a horse drawn caravan

So pack your suitcase
grab your mandolin
that night air whispered
sound advice
say your farewells now or not at all

where then?
for this wandering mind
has got to know
this castle
fine for the security it replaced
at the least a short while
while searching for answers to questions
that can never be found in one place
this castle though
never yours to keep

Maybe
just maybe
that home you desperately want
so you can call it your own
will be out there
some pretty lady keeping it warm
waiting
waiting

Not today
no where boy
You've been bitten by the bug
wanderlust
hide and seek
lose yourself to find yourself

So pack your suitcase
grab your mandolin
that night air whispered
sound advice
say your farewells now or not at all
it's the open road you seek
