Wor Penumbrae

 
Partially shaded around the edges
of our shadows,
we neither ran nor shied away
embracing the darkness
of one another
soaking ‘til wrinkled
we grew,
anew

Much of our connect is shrouded
hidden in an occult
darkened only by our lack of
knowledge we’ve not yet shared
with the other
of our respective gift
a painful reminder
we are different
think differently
feel

Nevertheless,
we persist
exist
& our empathy is only
eclipsed by our intense
love
for each other

Notwithstanding
our trip
quiet errors
has not altered
the destined path
our slow
methodical goal
towards
skin to skin
