Aloha🌸
I call it a feeling I get.
When gentle tide rolls in a sprawl,
And the late burnished sun will set
As the last of summer stars fall.
The songs that strum aloha, sway.
I call it a feeling I get,
With a soft sigh from off the bay,
And voices of lovers I’ve met.
With their words saying no regret,
While I watch, I listen and sing.
I call it a feeling I get,
Of sweet memories that they bring.
In the sky, I hear over me,
It’s love coming home on a jet.
I cast my longing out to sea,
I call it a feeling I get.

Super. Imagery well-stoking my neural network. The power of words used most excellently.

Thank you, Josh. You’ve been a special 5th element in this year’s NaPo, my friend. Besides there being earth, water, fire & air, there has also been support in poetry, of which you have been an exemplary example of. I bow to your ethics in the art of wordsmiths.

That's very generous in your assessment. {I thought the 5th element was 'wood' :)) ?} I committed to commenting on as many NaPo postings as I could, without saying anything naff - better to remain quiet when nothing useful or beautiful springs to mind.
In the process though, I have learned a lot, and got a 'feel' for certain people's poetry, delivered to my door each day - and without NaPo might not have crossed their path at all in the growing world of DUP.

I miss my youth growing up on Oahu.
Beautiful spill, Sister
You DO know Aloha is a greeting, as well, right?

Re: Re. Aloha
Yes of course I do, brother. I especially meant it that way in my piece. I’m sorry you thought it was all about ‘goodbye’ which is what many people think it means, when it actually means “till we meet again”.
By the way, that’s quite a coincidence: the poem takes place on Oahu.

Damn!! I must say I have been missing on some exceptional poems. After going through quite a few of your writes today, I can safely say you have become one of my favourites.
I think I will stop blabbering.

Such generosity in your words, dear Mahmudul, which are almost a balm to me. I’m so glad some of my own words of express are inspiring to you, my new friend.

Your words speak the wonders of mind. Very few people evokes that feeling in me. I think poetry is not about perfection rather expressing the thoughts of ages. Your works gave me new energy & perspective. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
