Confessions Of A Poetess:  Leo Man

Lonely boy was so fine,
crawled through thorns to become mine
entangled in branches bushy and wild
eyes burning holes in my love’s wiles.

Never before, or never again
a man did I see and so befriend
crying a sadness, head on his dream
its banks cresting, bursting at seams.

He crawled within to my open embrace
as he lay to taste it and be caressed
only without his hearts sole beat
softly sighing in ardent heat.

A Sun God above as rivers below
in warming my blood did they ever flow
a floral effluvium to slake his thirst
rising and growing in effluent bursts.

Hungry forever and never to sate
his eternal needs did time equate
burnished alone, his golden glow
a bestial throne to, before him, I go.

King of a world I wanted to find
only in time would he become mine
wearing a locket to garner his dreams
closing upon him in heavenly reams.

Spun in words, his golden glow on a page
to trap the beast in my gilded cage
I wrote of him in magnificent lore.
I fed him and he wanted more.
