Biscuit Camels
Biscuit Camels
(Six of 30 -- Official DUP NaPo/GloPoWrimo 2019)
I found today humorous
as I searched for archaic
synonyms for something
that hides and whispers
to me through dark eaves
within my insecurities
and schizophrenia.
The stench has attempted
to rob me on a daily basis;
attempts to suck my lungs
dry causing crack and bleed
emptied toilet paper rolls
shitters in frantic need
and latrine actions no one
truly wants to know.
Daily, I am cleaning up
scrubbing my fingers red
bleaching until my syllables
steam into asphyxiants
removing all oxygenated
doubts that I am not
a writer.
All it took was one kind
expurgationer wiping
away my collywobbles
loving and believing in me
challenging me to spill
and crap.
I trust her and so
I sat. . .
Only 24 more
pieces of shit
for me to
defecate.

LOL, this is really good, Tallen, I'm gonna take this concept seriously.
Even if it turns out at the end of the month
we aren't real writers, at least we'll have a
bucket of fertilizer.

LOL Tallen! Firstly, EVERYONE is a writer! Those who aren't gifted can learn the craft if they truly apply. I have seen you transform ( burgeon, whatever ) throughout Sky's influence and this NaPo! What was always inside you is just beginning to surface. Never doubt you are a writer!
Another humorous and yet astute message, Tallen. We are so impressed!

Sky is an amazing writer --
I know people can learn the craft.
I know, i know
it's just that a long time ago a writer told me my spit isn't very good and so i wore that shit like a medal.
But i'm getting better at accepting praises (i think)
Thank You wonderful thoughtful comments

Well, JK Rowling and other writers ( such as Stephen King ) were rejected by dozens of publishers before hitting it big. Another person's opinion is just that - their opinion. And opinion is personal perception. And personal perception is only personal truth. And personal truth is NOT universal truth. And most likely not yours, either.
Always follow your heart where it leads despite what anyone else says.

I’m studying the Druidic grades. Don’t know if you know that. I also read Sky’s comment above.
This poem reminded me of a discussion that came up amongst other students (of which I have an online network with) at what stage do you get to call yourself a Druid.
Do you get to call yourself one because you’ve done the course? Because you wear the symbols? Because you own the robes?
No. You get to call yourself a druid(ess) when you feel that you are one.
When do you get to call yourself a poet? When you’re published? When you become popular? When you have a slot on the radio?
No. You get to call yourself a poet when you wake up in the morning and all you want to do is write.
Believe, and you are.
Thank you for sharing.
