Just Like Bureaucrats
... ...
Ripping at the lifeless landscape...
Tearing a way between the computer monitors
Just like a man and a woman demented...
Just like bureaucrats
There was no sky, no sun, no earth...
Until corridors of power appeared like a mirage...
Upon a shopping mall's interconnecting walkways
So I whisper in her ears: "Depletion after a surmenage"...
As much to convince her... As to convince myself
"We'd better get prepared for more of the same
Breaking rumors wide open again and again..."
There are no shadows
Fluorescent tubes lighting us with a friendly glare
My significant other and I are suffering sleepless nights
Just like bureaucrats
