haiga I

haiga is a form of Japanese poetry that contains an image with either a haiku or senryu written on it.  This one form combined three artforms:  imagery ( photographs or original art * ), poetry, and calligraphy. I hope to dig out my calligraphy pens and apply original penmanship soon, something I feel has all but been lost in the digital age.  
 
* in this case both; this is a photograph of an original collage I did of mixed media: sand, gold leaf, sumi ink, and oil entitled ' Carved in Stone', which I believe the sentiment to be.  The senryu is digitally applied.   11 x 14
