Villanelle Nr.10 — Work-Style

I like to work in a tight parameter -
bulldozing forth I take my first bite:
test my progress with any tachometer

Pinpointing next an advanced perimeter
pounding the form until it feels right
I like to work in a tight parameter

Starting to dig I check my barometer
pressure is building in search of the light -
test my progress with any photometer

Time passes by on my ticking chronometer
sweating away, engaged in a fight
I like to work in a tight parameter

Many miles travelled with clicking pedometer
senses revealing the end is in sight -
test my progress with any pantometer

Sounding at last, my trusted vibrometer
signals a vibe, states “nearly - not quite” …
I like to work in a tight parameter:
test my stress with any seismometer.
