Jesus like cash
I've never sang in one of them old Honky Tonks
Can't say I have paid the cost,
Of what them great Cowboys lost,
while out punching the trail
cuz I've never done it myself
But theres something about me
since i was a child
Cant help feeling free n wild
Roaming the plains,
really living lifes game ,
blowing across the land
like an old dusty tumbleweed
idk why its just something
my soul seems to need
Keep your eyes to the sky
and your feet on the ground,
try to stay...

Running For Glory
I am training for the New York marathon as if I am a virgin runner
Enlisting the help of my own intuition to see this dream to the end
I will have the entire journal to view as time allows in documenting all the facets of recovery from an ankle injury sustained 02-08-22 and relying on sheer determination
This is my private workout room apart of my employment work site

The ring on my finger
The ring on my finger
Everytime I look at it
I think of her
I’m calmed by the thought
I find myself playing with it
Nonstop
All day
Thinking of her
I’m no longer looking.
No longer longing
For the eyes of others
The only one I want
She knows me
Knows my interest
Sees my face
And still, here we are
Everytime I look at it
I think of her
I’m calmed by the thought
I find myself playing with it

To Life
Woke up one day, the sun is up bright
Went out for a walk, what a beautiful sight.
The day lights up, streets full of joy
Sat down for a while, a sight to enjoy.
Happiness all around, everyone is smiling
A single thought came, is life not tiring?
It's all a lie, a moment after realizing
Opened my eyes, most of us are hiding.
Hiding behind a mask, hoping time will heal your scars
Holding back your tears, so it may not hurt so fast.
Heart so cold as ice, some shed no tears
But silently they do, all alone when no one is near. ...

The Balloon
Gather around, young and old.
I have a story to tell,
my children.Take one balloon,
And hold it while I tell thy tale.
There are two sides
who desire different things.
One says theirs is right,
and the other is wrong.
The same goes the other way around.
So they bicker for nights and days.
Are you still holding those balloons,
my dears?
From a simple argument,
turns into war.
I will give you a coin,
but you must use the hand to pick it.
The very same hand
you used to hold the balloon. ...

words on a page of dreams
It's a cold boring day
on the couch with the sniffles
I drink black coffee
and flick through an e-magazine
while my son plays on the floor
occasionally coming over for cuddles
the sound of a kids show
like white noise in the background
I'm reading the Australian magazine
Frankie
it's the kind of publication
I'd like to be in one day
if I could ever think of anything
interesting to say
or have some creation
worth showing
that was just the right combination
of unique art
and mainstream...

I enjoy a subtle treat,
But no glazed donuts for me
Since with an overwhelming sweet
My troubled guts will disagree,
By buds if taste too fairly warned,
To avoid at any cost,
Or be much less sugar adorned
Like cereal without the frost!
And think as well about your teeth
Or acrid candy aftertaste
Whereto the tongue, it will bequeath,
A wish for brush and minty paste
That gives all our corrupted breath
A balm forestalling oral death.

Spring Cleaning
I'm longing for an afternoon
With superabundant breeze and sun
On the calendar very soon
To get some overdue cleaning done.
The dust must come off all the books
And tea tables reset for tea
Instead of being that which brooks
Junk mail when we watch T.V.
And winter bunnies must be chased
Along with trash into a bin...
When electric heat can be replaced
With vernal breezes blowing in
Our not much lately open doors...
So great for when we mop the floors!
With superabundant breeze and sun
On the calendar very soon
To get some overdue cleaning done.
The dust must come off all the books
And tea tables reset for tea
Instead of being that which brooks
Junk mail when we watch T.V.
And winter bunnies must be chased
Along with trash into a bin...

With vernal breezes blowing in
Our not much lately open doors...
So great for when we mop the floors!

Girasol Nights!
I want that Gary Seven typewriter
Where all he had to do was speak...
And add a secretary, at her peak,
Equipped with a rainbow highlighter
So that my poems would look just as good
As a hippy chick with flower power
Preparing me a whiskey sour
In a new technicolor neighborhood...
Safe in Federation territory...
Where my undercroft office study hall
Has a tramway linked observatory
Spying on heaven's masquerade ball,
Or an Olympian allegory
Using Saturn's ring for a shopping mall.
Where all he had to do was speak...
And add a secretary, at her peak,
Equipped with a rainbow highlighter
So that my poems would look just as good
As a hippy chick with flower power
Preparing me a whiskey sour
In a new technicolor neighborhood...
Safe in Federation territory...

Has a tramway linked observatory
Spying on heaven's masquerade ball,
Or an Olympian allegory
Using Saturn's ring for a shopping mall.

Your Move
Toe dipped in the sea
now up to your knees
feel the salty spray
beckon to take you away
pulse quickens
complete immersion poised
self-doubt, anxiety, fear
down-shift free will
to a practical gear
from horizon pregnant with possibility
to resignations shore return
merely refreshing stagnant reality
disdainfully gazing at spectator fence
safe, noncommittal perching place
passion’s wind billows, slaps your face
fills the restless soul like a sail
forcing change from doldrumic course
deaf to...
