love will drag us to hell
I watched you circle mounds of feathery ashes with nicotine laced fingers
thirteen long winters, under the red moon. The sea did not part in the love-
bed-divide. The crows stopped chattering out of boredom of colors,
the bedroom walls collapsed-in-wayward. Knowing love will drag us to hell.
You don’t get much sleep, do you darling?
With all those ghosts hanging around the ceilling, fascinated by the monotony
sooner or later out of habit we’ll lace the arrows with sex and choc-a-late,
tossing rules of Sun-tzu in the air. Passing withered sentiments and half-
hearted chuckle. Knowing love will drag us to hell.
Please pardon the cynic in me as we sit here pondering,
which one of us will survive this eternity.
A beautiful chaos of misconstrued words, tangled and knotted
lined in perfect symmetry of love gesture on everything broken, before
the bastard sun rises again. knowing this love of ours will drag us to hell.

You know how it goes Dear Crimsin, we can keep something bottled for so long. Eventually, it bursts sending everything to hell. Thank you so much for supporting this write.

I absolutely adore this poem! Just love it... Can't get enough of it and with every read I find more to love in it.
Frankly, the title and repetition of it, is masterful and the syntax is crafted with such care that the art just oozes from it.
The imagery is just great. Each line throws a new image for the reader to digest.
The entire piece just rides the page with such care.
Thank you for this!
Blue Skies at you

It's so interesting how some poems just write themselves and this certainly turned out to be like that. The title kept playing in my head over and over like a jingle, next thing i know i kept seeing a slapstick of some dark comedy playing in my head of a house in complete shambles by two people who are madly passionately out of love with each other...anyhoo, yeah most of it is semi-biographical i confess.
Thank you immensly mister Rev-Al for your wonderful compliment. Much appreciation.

Thank you Tenderloin. I guess a little bit of organic emotions and a lot of twisted sense of humor made for a great recipe.

Layla, this I'd a beautifully written portrait of love gone stale. I enjoyed the images this passage conjures "With all those ghosts hanging around the ceilling, fascinated by the monotony." You've reminded me that "The Art of War" is on my reading list. Bravisima!

I was talking with someone about this piece last night and during the conversation i realized how the fight we invest in is not so much of what we can get out of it, but more so how much we hold on to the last of the remnants of what we have with each other. As they say, negative attention is still attention.
Anyhow, I'm thinking aloud here lol
but what i really want to do is to thank you Mister Gahddess worship for enjoying this poem of mine. I greatly appreciate your comment and taking your time.

That’s very sweet of you to say 😁
I guess I kind of suck when it comes to mingling. I just put my thoughts out there hoping people enjoy. Though if you really ever want to comment on my poems feel free to send me a pm.
I’ll be looking over more of your poetry. If they’re anything like this one then I’m sure they’ll be worth the read 🤗

I am quite profoundly moved.
"And even in our sleep pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God." Aeschylus

Thank you Daniel, i guess i couldn't help but infuse some sarcasm in this piece. As they say, we need to find some humor otherwise the tears will just choke us to death.

Re. love will drag us to hell
i love how you have turned n lined up all the elements n emotions towards a strongly atmospheric n an unstoppably vented verses in a seamless flow ...that shakes n syncs a reader! I loved the refraining title in the stanzas ..keeping on stressing the hellish fatality of 'such' love that which you seem to clearly define its maddeningly superficial n evasive course with such classic boredom tints (that's felt n captured like never before in your mastered flow) as never a 'sunning eternity' of an absolute love...( I loved the 'bastard sun' in usage particulary..such a force n way derin)
simply stunning read ..way to go dear poet..keep writing keep shining ..much love xx:)

I guess it wasn't too difficult to translate the emotions into a poem when i lived thru it. Your keen observations were so spot on that Im quite flattered by your comment especially coming from a poet of your caliber. I'm in awe of your writing and the language. YOu are an astounding writer, thank you for your time.

Enjoyed this immensely. Was going to say the pain is worded perfectly but I don’t see pain so much as waiting. And I think capturing that is harder than just pain. Amazing job!!

Honestly, this was written with one take so looking at it again, i'm finding gems myself at the correlation of certain words, wording that its quite organic enhancing with depth without feeling forced.
As for the emotional turmoil depicted, well i guess it's relatable to so many of us, we all have experienced breakups on some level in our lives.
Thank you my dear friend for your beautiful and much supportive comment.

Thanks for stopping by Mister Poe :)
